When I Start Typing An Email Address – Why Does It Fill In?
AutoComplete. Your fill in the blank
Ever notice when you type the first letter of a name in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes in an email, it
suggests possible matches (based on names you have typed before?) This is AutoComplete
and is on by default.
As you type more letters, the greater the possibility of a match. Names that you use less
frequently will move lower in the list over time, and eventually disappear.
To delete unwanted suggestions from the list, select the unwanted suggestion by using the Up
Arrow or Down Arrow keys, and then press Delete.
To turn off AutoComplete:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options, and then click Advanced E-mail
Options.
3. Clear the Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields check box.
